SO I decided I cannot STAND the juniper bushes out front in our landscape bed. No, that is not ours in the picture, but an image I found on the net. Ours are not as tall, and definitely a newer house! Had ALMOST all the tools needed to do some serious damage to them. Started with a trim with the electric shrub trimmers. Then I remembered hey, 1)I am allergic to these bushes, 2)I cannot stand the way they look or smell and 3) I want an area out front for a conversation bench like I had in Texas, so VOILA. They are COMING OUT! I have gotten started on them, but BOY HOWDEE do they have some serious trunks! Of course our chainsaw is inoperable, the trunks are too big for a set of loppers, cannot find a blade for my hacksaw (tried the saw I bought for sawing stuff like laminate flooring - incidentally, NOT so good for bush trunks! I think I have me a serious project going now. I have quit for the day since I do not want to have a major allergic reaction going when we have the mixer this afternoon with the International Students, but I think DYNAMITE would do the trick. Too bad it is illegal for us to use inside the city limits (J/K). Our landlady said we could do whatever we wanted out front, that she and her hubby have no green thumb, so I am taking her at her word. It will so lovely when I am done with some fresh mulch, a conversation bench, and maybe a fountain. I shall send pics when it is complete. In the meantime, I better go take yet another shower before I start my allergies going FULL FORCE! Gotta love it, no matter where the Army moves us, I am allergic to most everything FLORA related!
